The Faculty of Business at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a strong and expanding community of academics, many with professional and commercial experience, dedicated to creating and disseminating business knowledge that makes a difference in the world. Our faculty consists of 220 highly qualified academics recruited from all over the world. We boast more than 29,000 alumni who are leaders in their own professions and industries. This number increases yearly with each graduating class. The Faculty of Business vigorously pursues academic excellence through a global and interdisciplinary approach, and has gained international acclaim. The Faculty is ranked No. 66 among the world’s top 100 business schools in the latest independent ranking exercise by the University of Texas at Dallas, based on research contributions in 24 leading business journals from 2004 to 2008. The ranking places us among the top three business schools in Asia. The quality of our programmes is recognized internationally. Our MBA and DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) programmes are accredited by AMBA (Association of MBAs) in the United Kingdom. PolyU Faculty of Business is the first business school in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland accredited by AMBA, while our DBA is among the first DBAs in the world thus accredited. The Faculty has also achieved the highly sought-after EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, which recognizes the quality of programmes, research and associated activities of the Faculty. We focus on interdisciplinary research and programmes to inject intellectual rigor and to create dynamic research and learning experiences. The Faculty supports a network of six research centres in the respective fields of competition law, corporate governance, logistics and maritime studies, and retail marketing, with an interdisciplinary approach to address problems vital to today’s world of business. Our flagship programme DBA cuts across the disciplines of finance, accounting, corporate governance, management, marketing, law, and logistics and maritime studies.
