Application for Withdrawal

Every year, around 30% of our Year 2 students go for overseas and Mainland China & Taiwan exchange programmes

The Faculty Exchange Programme will help students to:

  • improve their self-confidence and broaden their outlook
  • learn about different cultures by experiencing them first hand
  • understand the own values and beliefs of members of other cultures through interaction with them
  • learn to become independent, flexible and mature
  • improve their language skills through immersion in a foreign language environment
  • make friends with people from different cultural and social backgrounds
  • add a global dimension to their university life, which potential employers may value

Every year, around 30% of our Year 2 students go for overseas and Mainland China & Taiwan exchange programmes.

We have outbound exchange places at (1) Institutional Level, open to full-time undergraduates; and (2) Faculty of Business Level, open ONLY to application by Faculty of Business students.

4-Year BBA Programmes

  • All Full-time Year 2 BBA students
  • Full-time students admitted directly to Year 3 of BBA programmes.

Successful students will go for exchange at overseas or Chinese Mainland universities in the following academic year.

  • Language proficiency
  • Leadership
  • Extra-curricular activities participation
  • Community service participation
  • Performance at interview

Post-exchange Requirements

  • Submit report on attainment and personal development to FB & IAO/CMAO (as appropriate).
  • Complete at least 50-hour-points of voluntary service to Schools/Departments of FB, FB, PolyU or the community.

Financial Aid

We hold a belief that no qualified student should miss this opportunity owing to financial difficulties so that significant financial assistance is provided by the Faculty and the University respectively to support students' air fare, insurance and living expenses during exchange.

Since 2003/04, the Faculty has spent $19M to support students for exchange studies. 

Students with financial difficulties and going on overseas exchange can also apply for the University Hardship Fund (please refer to the International Affairs Office for details).
